Paper vaccination cards get lost, and "I think it was last spring" isn't good enough when your dog needs to board or your cat needs a rabies certificate. Here's a system that works.

What to record for each shot

  • Vaccine name (e.g. DHPP, Rabies, FVRCP)
  • Date given
  • Next due date
  • Clinic / veterinarian
  • Any batch number or notes from the certificate

Keep it all in one place

Store every pet's records together, with photos of the actual certificates. If you have more than one pet, a single view of "what's due next" saves a lot of worry.

Set it and forget it

The best record is one that reminds you. A free PetsAlbum profile lets you pick the vaccine from a species-specific list, records the date, and automatically flags when a booster is due soon or overdue — and you can keep photos and videos of your pet in the same album.
